IVRCL Assets Raising Rs 150Cr From Ascent Capital

Infrastructure player IVRCL Assets and Holdings Ltd, part of Hyderabad-based IVRCL Group, is raising Rs 150 crore ($33.8 million) from Ascent India Fund III. The private equity fund, managed by the Bangalore-based Ascent Capital, is picking up the shares at Rs 129, slightly higher than today's closing price of Rs 127.9. IDFC Private Equity gets behind India’s GMR Energy

India’s IDFC Private Equity has steered an investor group including Argonaut Ventures and Ascent Capital to invest INR4.65bn ($98.6m) in GMR Energy, a Bangalore-headquartered power generation corporation. The funds from the IDFC-led group will support the company in expanding its power generation capacity from 808MW to more than 6,500MW over the next few years, the company said. Read More
GMR Energy Limited, the energy arm of diversified GMR Group, has decided to raise capital from investors led by the IDFC Group for its energy expansion plans. The IDFC Group and co-investors, Argonaut Ventures and Ascent Capital, have signed a shareholders’ agreement to invest Rs 465 crore into GEL. In April, Singapore investment fund Temasek Holdings invested $200 million (about Rs 936 crore) in GMR Infra. Prior to that, the company raised another $315 million (about Rs 1,475 crore) from share sale to institutions. GMR Energy is engaged in the business of power generation, transmission and distribution. Read More
